Teen Stress Buster Retreat

"Tools & techniques to overcome nerves & build calm resilience"

STRESS BUSTER RETREAT – WORKSHOP FOR TEENS (14-17 YRS)

Teens will learn & practise tools and techniques that are proven to help them respond & calm their natural responses to stressful situations.

They will discover skills they didn’t know they had, and start to use them to help build confidence & resilience.

Skills which they will use in life every day – and particularly as they prepare for exams.

Date in April to be confirmed 2pm-5pm

Kew LiveWell Wellbeing Centre, TW9 4FF

Whilst stress is a useful & natural in daily life, it can quickly become debilitating and ‘switch off’ our ability to retain and produce our best work.

In this relaxed & easy-going workshop we will not only teach your teen incredible things about how the body & brain work and how they respond to stress, but also how we all have the power to avoid, intercept & calm those natural responses. They will gain knowledge & skills that not only prepare them for the pressure of exams, but will help them every single day.

They will move, stretch and calm their bodies using the principles of yoga – having time disconnected from technology & the external world, to unwind and relax in a safe space and re-connect with themselves.

Teens will learn & practise proven tools and techniques that they can start using immediately, to help them prepare for exam nerves and approach them calmly.

During our time together your teen will learn & practise:

How the body’s nervous system works; how & when the logical, thinking brain will go ‘off line’ – and what they can do to avoid it or bring it back. They will learn about the incredible Vagus nerve and how it can be ‘trained’ like a muscle to help us become more resilient, and cope better with stress.

They will explore techniques & tricks that are proven to calm us down and can be used anywhere – including grounding, breath work and Emotional Freedom Technique, a cutting edge method to support you to let go of unhelpful emotions. They will learn about innate skills & strengths which they don’t know they already have – and explore how use them to help themselves, and others.

Using the principles of yoga they will also practise easy movement and stretching – shown to support concentration & clarity, to promote healthy sleep patterns and to teach the body how to relax deeply.
